Reloop’s most recent polling shows that seven out of 10 people in Great Britain support the introduction of a deposit return system to cut drinks litter and boost recycling.
The research found that for those who rank the cost of living as the most important issue, 71% of these voters support deposit return systems, and support for the scheme is at 64% among those earning less than £25k per year.
Our poll also found high levels of support for deposit return systems among potential voters of all major political parties in the United Kingdom.
Once the scheme was explained to respondents, net support for deposit systems stood at:
· 69% among Labour voters
· 77% with Conservative voters, and
· 71% among Liberal Democrat voters.
